After the establishing of the Dodge Brothers Company by Horace and John Dodge in 1900, the Detroit-based organization rapidly looked for some kind of employment delivering exactness motor and suspension parts for the city's developing number of car firms. Boss among these clients were the set up Olds Motor Vehicle Company and the then-new Ford Motor Company.Civilian generation at Dodge was restarted by late 1945, in time for the 1946 model year. The "vender's market" of the early after war years, expedited by the absence of any new autos all through the war, implied that each automaker thought that it was anything but difficult to offer vehicles paying little respect to any downsides they may have. Like practically every other automaker, Dodge sold daintily facelifted amendments of its 1942 plan through the 1948 season. As some time recently, these were a solitary arrangement of six-barrel models with two trim levels (fundamental Deluxe or plusher Custom). From 1949 until 1954, Fluid Drive could be consolidated with "Gyro-Matic," a self-loader transmmission which decreased (yet didn't kill) the need to change gears.
